Opstead Church is re-opening it's doors on May 31, 2020. As a small church, Opstead has many opportunities to enable and practice social distancing. We ask that those returning on May 31 will respect the 6-foot distance guidelines set by the CDC and refrain from physical contact with others. Please take things safe and slow.
Children are loved at Opstead, and while it can be a distraction, the soft, innocent noise of young ones is often welcomed and understood. At this time, there will not be organized child care during the service. We realize having little ones in the worship service can pose challenges at times. If you have young ones, we encourage and invite you to bring quiet things that may entertain them, while also understanding that there may be a time when you or your spouse may need to take them out where they can be a bit more active.
The Sonshine Room will be available, as will the Kids Kingdom Room and the playground outside. We simply ask that you clean up wherever you play. Thank you for being flexible and understanding during these unprecedented times, we look forward to hopefully returning to our regular Give Me 5 childcare soon.
The mission of Opstead Church is to worship and know Jesus Christ through God's Word, becoming like Him, and making Him known in our community.
Opstead Church is located north of Isle, MN. Whether you're new to the area or have made Mille Lacs your home for years, we'd be delighted to meet you this weekend.
Toddlers–4th Grade are welcome to be dropped off at 10:30 AM in the Sunshine Room for playtime, a snack, and a Bible lesson led by our awesome Children's Ministry volunteers. We teach kids that they are loved by God and they can do big things through Jesus, even if they're small.
There are currently no Wednesday night youth programs at Opstead.
As a church with only volunteers, we don't have a 24/7 contact person over phone or email. However, you may reach out using a method below and a volunteer on the Connections Team will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
We're glad you're here, but we hope to meet you in person! We'd love to get to know you, pray with you, and learn about Jesus together — plus, we don't know how to serve you free food over the Internet.
Being volunteers, we don't always have a full live band present. A worship leader will facilitate a time of worshiping to Biblical songs ranging from hymns to modern contemporary.
Lastly, we eat! You can stay for a free meal after the service is over. It can range from appetizers to full-on feasts. Either way, it's a good time to meet new people and enjoy great food.
We don't pass an offering plate around. Instead, you may give as you feel led at the giving station in the back of the room or online. This money goes to support those in need throughout our community, puts gas in the lawnmower, buys cleaning supplies, and keeps the electricity bill paid. We never ask visitors to give; we just hope you enjoy your time worshiping with us.
